we're gonna party like it's your birthday

Tucker is ONE! I can't believe it but it's true. One year has come and gone in a flash. We had a couple celebrations for Tucky, mostly because our house is tiny and we can't fit everyone all at once. Chelsea and Kyle hosted a little get together for Tucker and his friends, August, Lucy, Kaeden, Keegan, and their parents. It was lovely, we are so blessed by our Mankato family!

One year old friends! (one of my favorite pictures)
So big!
Pumpkin muffin-I think he likes it.

Even August likes to party!

The following weekend we had a family celebration at our house. We enjoyed a big lunch and some yummy treats. I had a couple of themes for this party, "little pumpkin" for Tucker and "thankful" for Matt and I. We are just so grateful for the past year that we were given with Tucker. We have had so many unforgettable memories that will stay with us forever. It was great for our family to come together to celebrate one year of life. Tucker was spoiled with TONS of presents and because it was pumpkin themed, of course, we had to carve some pumpkins!

I had everyone write their favorite memory they have shared with Tucker from the past year. My plan is to put these sweet memories into his baby book for him to look back on and see how loved he has always been.

We discovered Tucker's LOVE of cake!

Tucker's dad is always causing a ruckus.

On Tucker's actual birthday, November 2nd, Matt was out of town so we had a quiet night with just he two of us. We had dinner at Noodles where Tuck enjoyed spaghetti and meatballs. After dinner we had a giant vegan birthday cookie, compliments of Dawn.

We've had enough sugar and celebration to last us until next year. Deep breaths. My baby has officially turned in to a toddler. Why does this make me teary?

a fixie & a pinkie

Matt and I only live about 3 blocks from campus so we decided to buy new (to us) bikes last year when we moved to Mankato. In college I had THREE bikes stolen!Because we won't be leaving college towns anytime soon so I thought it would be best to buy cheap. We found a non-profit bike shop that sells used bikes and we each found a bike that was perfect for us. I paid $20 for mine and Matt paid $30 for his. They were both ride-able, but definitely needed some TLC. We did some minor repairs and upgrades, but knew we wanted to completely fix them up. I decided to paint mine and Matt wanted to convert his to a fixed gear. We finally had a free weekend to get the job done!
